In the following Q&A, Kris talks about how her personal experience with divorce convinced her to help others facing the same situations, and how [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-2″] has become one of the most-trusted law firms for family cases.

Q: What made you decide to become a lawyer who represents people in divorces and other family law matters?

A: In 2004, I was blessed with my first child. Her father and I were no longer together when she was born. Years of court battles ensued over possession and access of her thereafter. I discovered firsthand how difficult the process is and how it affects you financially and emotionally and can take over your life. It was at this point that I changed the focus of practice and began to step in and assist families struggling through the same challenges. It was an invaluable experience that I have used in my practice since that time. My ex and I have worked for years to become the best co-parents we can be but it has not been without bumps.

Q: What can a person expect if they hire Balekian Hayes to represent them?

A: You can expect understanding. We pride ourselves on being honest and direct to all clients. We do not want people to waste money litigating issues that can be resolved by other means. We do not abuse billing, we are cognizant of costs and involve you in the process to make financial decisions. We are understanding and will advise based on our experiences so that you don’t fight losing battles. We promise to give you our dedication and we promise not to overload ourselves with clients to where you lose the personal attention that you are entitled to. Most important, so many clients maneuver though litigation with an attorney that they do not trust. We are the attorneys that you can trust.

Q: What is the most memorable case you’ve handled and what made it stand out?

A: I wish I could choose one. There have been so many opportunities for us to make a difference. We have represented many women that had been out of the workforce for years. We helped them start a whole new life. We assisted them in windfall recoveries, taught them about financial decisions, introduced them to the tools to invest wisely, and even assisted them in locating employment. We are grateful for the opportunities to assist.
