Balekian Hayes And Dallas CASA Host Children in the Care of Dallas County Child Protective Services

Private VIP Viewing event of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ for those impacted by abuse and neglect

Dallas, TX – (May 9, 2019) – Family law firm, Balekian Hayes PLLC, with the assistance of Dallas CASA and Child Protection and Permanency Court Judge, Judge Gonzales, hosted more than 100 children in the care of Dallas County Child Protective services to enjoy a day at the movies on May 4, 2019 at Studio Movie Grill in Dallas, Texas. Children impacted by abuse and neglect were treated to the ultimate movie experience featuring a private VIP viewing of the record-breaking Avengers: Endgame, with plenty of snacks, drinks, popcorn and surprise raffle items.

According to Dallas CASA, more than 4,300 Dallas County children lived in the protective care of the state in 2018. On average, more than six children are removed from their home due to abuse or neglect each day in Dallas.

“Spending a day at the movies is a luxury that many children in child protective services don’t often experience,” says Kris Balekian Hayes, president of [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-2″]. “We created this event to give children impacted by abuse and neglect a day of stress-free entertainment that helps provide a sense of normalcy and respite from the everyday challenges they face.”

About Dallas CASA:

Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. For many of these children, their CASA volunteer is the only consistent, caring adult during a frightening, uncertain time. In 2018, Dallas CASA’s 1,420 volunteers advocated for 3,332 Dallas children. But at the end of the year, one out of five Dallas County children in foster care did not have a volunteer advocate. Dallas CASA hopes to become the largest nonprofit CASA program in the country to serve all Dallas County abused children in protective care who need a CASA volunteer.
